Every year we make New Year’s resolutions that don’t make it past the end of January or if you are like me, they don’t make it past the first box of donuts that get passed around the office. Why not make your New Year’s resolutions about your car? They are probably easier to keep then losing a few pounds.
Clean Out Your Car Start by emptying out the entire car and putting it back together with only what you’ll need for the season. An ice scraper, an extra pair of gloves and a small blanket are a good idea in the winter. Plus shedding unnecessary weight from your car can help improve fuel efficiency.
Check Your Spare While you’re emptying out the trunk, check to be sure that you have a spare tire and that it’s in good condition with proper air pressure.
Check Your Tires Since you’re thinking about your tires, check your air pressure and your tire tread. Or stop by the C & S Tire Shop and we will be happy to check them for you!
Replace Your Wiper Blades It’s easy in this dry climate to forget about wipers, but even the best ones are only good for a year or two before they may crack, dry out or lose strips of rubber. We offer FREE windshield wiper installation with purchase in the Carquest Auto Parts Store.
Make Maintenance a Priority Getting oil changes, checking filters and tires, and inspecting belts and other fluids on a regular basis will help keep your car on the road for a long time. And maintenance just may prevent you or a loved one from being stranded on the side of the road.
